Flying Dutch winger Eljero Elia is closing in on a move to Juventus.

The Hamburg star is a player the Bianconeri would desperately love to take to Turin before the end of the transfer window and, while Elia’s German club were not in a rush to sell, they were not willing to keep hold of a winger that wants to leave.

Elia is now on his way to Turin to complete a medical before signing on the dotted line.

The 24-year-old had been unsure of whether to move to the Bianconeri or wait for other options to materialise.

Indeed, the winger made no secret of his preference for a move to England, with a recent declaration that he was not sure whether Juventus represented a step up from Hamburg, or merely a sideways shuffle.

But Juventus have worked their charm on the former FC Twente winger and coach Antonio Conte is close to signing the wide player he deems essential to his 4-3-3 formation.
