Turkish striker Mevlut Erding is staying at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, much to the disappointment of Rennes, who had agreed a deal for the 24-year-old.
Erding had vowed to remain at the Parc des Princes and fight for his place, but the striker then looked to be well on the way to leaving PSG, with Rennes submitting an offer that found favour with the Turkish international’s club.
But now it has been decided that the forward is staying put.
"I’m disappointed because Erding agreed to come", said Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti.
"Along with four major French clubs, we approached him.
"Erding said he wanted to come, but Paris would not let him go."
