Chelsea have announced the signing of Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles from Liverpool.
The 28-year-old was the subject of a failed bid from the Blues yesterday, when Liverpool rejected an offer of cash plus Yossi Benayoun.
But Meireles was desperate to link up with countryman Andre Villas-Boas at Stamford Bridge and submitted a transfer request earlier this evening.
And now the former FC Porto boss has got his man.
"Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Raul Meireles from Liverpool on a four-year contract", read a statement released by the London giants.
"The midfielder, 28, arrives after just over a season at Anfield in which he made 44 appearances for the Reds."
