Manchester City are still keen on Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci, but time is running out for the English club to do a deal.

The 24-year-old has been identified by City boss Roberto Mancini as a possible addition at Eastlands and La Viola are bracing themselves for a last minute bid from the big-spending Premier League side.

Fiorentina have even go so far as to hone in on a replacement, with Baris’ Emanuel Rivas picked as Cerci’s likely successor.

However, any deal with City would need to be done soon enough to give Fiorentina a chance to swoop for Rivas.

La Viola have seen fan unrest over their transfer dealings this summer and selling Cerci without bringing a replacement in could see further dissatisfaction amongst their supporters.

Cerci moved to Fiorentina in 2010 from Roma. The former Italy Under-21 international has spent time on loan at Brescia, Pisa and Atalanta.
