Brazilian-born striker Amauri is determined to make his mark at Juventus this season after snubbing a number of offers to remain with the Serie A club.

Notably Amauri was a target for French side Marseille, who were hopeful of signing the hitman on transfer deadline day, a move which would have allowed Andre-Pierre Gignac to leave Didier Deschamps’ men for either Newcastle or Fulham.

But Marseille were unable to convince Amauri to come and the striker backed out of a deal, choosing to stay in Turin.

"The player won’t move abroad, he refused many interesting offers", said Amauri’s agent Giampiero Pocetta to Radio Mana Mana.

"He has decided to remain to show the club and the coach that he can still be useful.

"I ask Juventus fans to support him as he has shown a high level of professionalism."
