Bayern Munich will face competition from Manchester City for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Marco Reus.

Gladbach know they have nurtured a gem in the 22-year-old, but are well aware that a number of bigger clubs are taking a serious interest in the midfielder.

Bayern Munich were always believed to be in pole position for Reus, with no other club in Germany capable of meeting Gladbach’s supposed €22M asking price.

But now sources in Germany have indicated that English outfit Manchester City have joined the race for Reus.

Roberto Mancini’s men would have little problem in competing with Bayern Munich in the transfer market and could even top any bid made by the Allianz Arena giants.

Reus has clocked up 12 appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season, finding the back of the net seven times in what has been a spell of impressive form at Borussia-Park.
