Clarence Seedorf is hoping to win both Serie A and the Champions League with AC Milan this season, and the Dutchman believes the Rossoneri’s recent match against Barcelona proves the feat is possible.

Milan lost at home to Barcelona in the Champions League, but the nip-and-tuck nature of the affair and the 3-2 scoreline left many in the Italian camp confident that competing with the Catalans is not an impossibility.

And Seedorf was more encouraged than most.

"We had a great match and we showed our value", said the 35-year-old.

"The realisation that we have enough quality is important for our future.

"We played at the same level and we continued to do so throughout the game."

Indeed, the Dutchman now thinks that glory at home and abroad is on the agenda.

"In May, I hope to win the Champions League and celebrate. In Serie A, we have regained our superiority. The real challenge lies in Europe."
