Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has accepted that his side are too reliant on Robin van Persie to score goals.
The Frenchman however is backing the Gunners’ other attacking talents, the likes of Gervinho, Theo Walcott and even midfielder Aaron Ramsey, to ensure the load is spread.
But for the moment, Van Persie is crucial, having scored half of Arsenal’s league goals for the season, with a whopping 13 strikes.
"At the moment I can’t deny that", said Wenger to Arsenal’s official site when asked whether Arsenal are relying on Van Persie for their goal threat, but added: "but I believe that the likes of Gervinho, Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott can score goals and I believe they will.
"They can score goals, I am completely confident of that.
"And they will score. At the moment Robin is always on the end of things, I think he will continue, but I also think it will change that the other players will score goals as well."
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to strugglers Wigan Athletic – the perfect opportunity for Wenger’s other talents to start finding the net.
