Turkish giants Galatasaray are running the rule over a swoop for Benfica striker Javier Saviola.
The Istanbul giants want to boost their attacking options in January as they seek to support the efforts of Swedish hitman Johan Elmander, who at times has seemed isolated as the spearhead of their frontline.
And Saviola, who is currently in Portugal with Benfica, has been suggested as a possible solution to Galatasaray’s attacking problem.
The Argentine’s contract in Lisbon expires at the end of this season, giving rise to talk of a cut-price transfer in January.
Galatasaray would be prepared to offer Saviola a lucrative contract if he did agree to head for Turkey.
It remains to be seen however whether the nippy striker will consider a switch to Galatasaray.
