Former Chelsea star Michael Ballack could end up playing in the United States according to his agent.

Ballack recently announced his intention to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season, though stressed he still believes his body will allow him to play at a high level for another year or two.

A move to the MLS for the 35-year-old was instantly mooted, with New York Red Bulls suggested, and Ballack’s agent, Michael Becker has confirmed it may happen.

"His contract expires in June 2012 and of course the MLS could be a solution", said Becker.

A return to England, where Ballack played for Chelsea, is also not impossible he mused.

"There is also the option of whether to go to England, but Michael has already played there.

"In any case, we expect offers from all over the world."
