Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has stated his belief that striker Mario Balotelli needs to pay more attention to what is going on around him on the pitch.
Balotelli was sent off during City’s recent 1-1 draw with Liverpool, despite having only come into the game as a substitute.
The former Inter man picked up two yellow cards in quick succession – and now Balotelli has picked up three red cards since joining City.
For Mancini, the Italian international needs to be more street smart because the Citizens’ manager is powerless to intervene once Balotelli is on the pitch.
"Mario should pay attention and he should be clever", said Mancini.
"I can do nothing – only he is on the pitch.
"He should pay attention and think only about football."
