Germany international striker Lukas Podolski has added fuel to the fire over a possible switch to English Premier League giants Arsenal.

Podolski is tipped to leave Bundesliga outfit 1.FC Koln either in January or next summer, when he will have just one year left on his contract.

Koln have already informed the former Bayern Munich striker that, if he can attract a sufficient offer, then they will not stand in his way.

Arsenal have long been linked with the 26-year-old, while there is also understood to be significant interest from Italy and Russia.

But it is the prospect of a move to the Emirates Stadium which Podolski has addressed.

"They are a top club", said the German, when asked about whether he could move to Arsenal.

"They play very well", he added.

"Everybody would like to play there."

Podolski has scored nine goals in the Bundesliga this season.
