Arsenal won 4-0 at Wigan Athletic yesterday, giving manager Arsene Wenger even more reason to believe his side can win this season’s Premier League title.

The Gunners were rampant at the DW Stadium, going 2-0 up by half time through Mikel Arteta and Thomas Vermaelen, while Gervinho and Robin van Persie added a third and fourth respectively after the break.

The win sees Arsenal just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but 12 behind league leaders Manchester City – and it is top spot that Wenger is still aiming for.

"I am confident we can achieve it", said Wenger of the Premier League title after the game.

"It looks like all the teams up front will win comfortably. It will be down to the teams who are the most consistent.

"When you look at the scores today from the teams who are in front of us like Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City, they all won with two, three, four goals difference.

"That means it will be down to who is the most consistent out there."
