Andre Ayew has poured cold water on speculation that he could quit Marseille, stating that now is not the right time for him to leave the Stade Velodrome.
The talented winger-cum-forward, who is the son of legendary Ghana midfielder Abedi Pele, is coveted by a number of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Premier League giants Arsenal and Bundesliga titans Bayern Munich those most recently linked with bids for his services.
Ayew though maintains that he still has much to learn and, at just 21 years old, is not ready to leave Marseille, the club he joined as a youth player in 2005.
"I don’t wish to go. I’m not thinking about it", Ayew told RTL.
"What is important is not to go abroad, it is to make good progress and to put in good performances with this club", added the Ghana international.
Ayew also cited the presence of his brother Jordan at Marseille as further reason to remain.
"It’s very fun to be together at this club, a club we love and that we train with.
"We know at some point we may be obliged to separate, but for now we’re very young and we’re trying to take our time and do what needs to be done.
"We’re in no hurry to leave."
