Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he has dreamed of signing Brazilian sensation Neymar from Santos.
Wenger is certain that Neymar has the potential to become one of the finest players in world football and his constant progression has not gone unnoticed at the Emirates Stadium.
Nevertheless, the Frenchman believes that Santos’ asking price for Neymar puts the 19-year-old out of the Premier League club’s reach.
But Wenger can still dream.
"If I had the money, I’d buy Neymar", said the Arsenal manager.
"He has the potential to become a great goalscorer", added Wenger, before inserting a caveat: "But there is a big difference between the level of the Brazilian championship and the European level."
Neymar looks set to remain with Santos for the foreseeable future, leading the Brazilian side’s charge at the Club World Cup this month, where, along with team-mate Ganso, the 19-year-old will aim to help his team become world champions.
