Basel forward Marco Streller is bracing himself for a tough battle against Manchester United in the Champions League and, the man who is expected to be the Swiss side’s chief goal-getter, is sure the English outfit will not underestimate the challenge in front of them.
The Super League champions will qualify for the Round of 16 at Manchester United’s expense if they can beat Sir Alex Ferguson’s men, while for the Premier League side, a draw is enough.
Basel shocked the Red Devils at Old Trafford earlier in the competition, with the hosts lucky to grab a late equaliser to ensure the game ended 3-3.
Streller is certain that, on that occasion, Basel were underestimated by their illustrious counterparts – something he knows will not happen again.
"At 2-0 it seemed that they did not take us seriously, but after that, I know that they will not underestimate us again.
"They take us seriously now because they know we are a good team. We have proven it."
And the striker is sure that the pressure on the night will not be on the hosts, for who qualification would be a famous feat, but instead on the visitors.
"Of course, the pressure is bigger for them. In 99 per cent of the matches they play, Manchester United are the favourites.
"I am sure they can cope with the pressure but maybe there are one or two per cent in the back of our minds that can give us an advantage."
