AC Milan have confirmed that the ball is in Manchester City’s court with regards to Carlos Tevez.

The Rossoneri have agreed terms with the Argentine, but will now wait for City’s response to a proposal that comprises a loan until the end of the season, with the right to buy thereafter.

And despite talk that Milan would pay €3M to take Tevez on loan until the end of the season, no amount whatsoever will be offered.

"I’ve been in my office with Tevez’ agent and the situation is clear", Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani told the club’s TV channel.

"Milan have an agreement with the player and just now we have sent a proposal to Manchester City: a free loan with the right to buy under certain conditions."

Asked why City would accept such a bid, Galliani was clear.

"He is not playing, he’s a great player and if he does well with us then we’ll buy him.

"The player is giving up a huge amount of money. He had enormous bonuses with City for the Premier League and the Champions League.

"I spoke to Carlitos and he wants to join us.

"Half of the agreement is complete, now we need City’s response."
