Central African striker Habib Habibou is edging closer towards a move to English Championship side West Ham United.

The 24-year-old, who is under contract to Belgian Pro League side Zulte Waregem, has taken part in trials at the London outfit and has impressed, though a decision over a possible swoop has not yet been made by Hammers boss Sam Allardyce.

Habibou scored twice in a recent 3-0 friendly victory over Brentford to further boost his chances of landing at Upton Park.

The striker found the back of the net 12 times in 30 games for Zulte Waregem last season, but has been dropped to the club’s B team for disciplinary reasons.

Habibou’s Belgian side would therefore be open towards allowing him to join West Ham for the right price.

The Flanders club have the 24-year-old goal-getter under contract until 2014.
