Paris Saint-Germain are set to rival AC Milan for Manchester City outcast Carlos Tevez – a fact of which the Serie A champions are well aware.

Milan recently announced that they had agreed terms with Tevez and sent an offer to loan the striker to Eastlands.

The Rossoneri want to take the 27-year-old until the end of the season without paying Manchester City a fee for the privilege, while there would also be a clause allowing Milan to make the move permanent if certain conditions are met.

But Roberto Mancini’s men are not ready to allow Tevez to depart for nothing and the interest of Paris Saint-Germain looks certain to shake up the race.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed the French giants are in the running for the Argentine.

"I can confirm the presence of Paris Saint-Germain [in the race for Tevez] and we are aware [of it]", Galliani told Sky Italia.

Milan will now be working against the club’s former coach Leonardo, who is PSG’s sporting director –  Galliani insists he has not spoken to the Brazilian about Tevez.

"I haven’t heard from Leonardo as he works for another club and can do what he wants.

"I expect to learn more in the coming days, but there is time to close the deal before the end of the transfer window, even if I would prefer to bring him to Italy before that."

And Galliani confirmed the main sticking point between Milan and Manchester City.

"We know that Manchester City want to sell the player and we want to loan him.

"We have to convince them to accept our offer, but it won’t be easy."

The vice-president also struck a confident note over seeing off PSG’s interest stating that Tevez "wants to join Milan."
