Mons striker Jeremy Perbet moving to English Premier League club Everton has been dismissed as unrealistic by the player’s agent.

Perbet has been amongst the goals this season and currently sits on top of the Belgian Pro League’s scoring charts.

The 26-year-old’s feats had seen sections of the British press link him with a move to Everton, but landing at Goodison Park looks a far-fetched prospect.

Indeed, the French striker’s agent thinks another step would be required to reach the level of a side like Everton.

"Have you ever seen a player from Mons be transferred to such a big club?", said Perbet’s agent Yuri Selak.

"In between there must be an intermediate step."

Selak also ruled out a move for Perbet before the end of the season and poured cold water on suggestions the 26-year-old has a get-out clause in his contract.

"The goal is to stay at Mons until the end of the season.

"And there is no clause in the contract."
