Ligue 1 champions Lille are weighing up a move to take midfielder Francis Coquelin from Arsenal on loan according to L’Equipe.

The Frenchman has already warned Arsenal that he will be forced to consider his options when the winter transfer window opens after finding himself far from a regular pick for Arsene Wenger.

Coquelin had started for the Gunners at the beginning of the season and made his debut against Manchester United in Arsenal’s infamous 8-2 drubbing at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old is desperate to play to further his development and, if not at the Emirates Stadium, the opportunity to do so under Rudi Garcia at Lille would be an attractive option.

Lille are looking to boost their squad for the second half of the season and could also ask for an option to make any move for Coquelin permanent.

The midfielder spent last season on loan in Ligue 1 with Lorient and has a taste for first team football that Arsenal at present cannot satisfy.
