Manchester City and Manchester United should not be allowed into the Europa League after being knocked out of the Champions League believes Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp.
Both Manchester clubs finished third in their respective Champions League groups, meaning that each drop into the Europa League, a competition they have instantly been identified as amongst the favourites for.
And for Redknapp, whose side are also in the Europa League, such a situation should not occur.
"I have got to be honest, I don’t know how you can go from the Champions League into the Europa League anyway. Do you really?.
"If you get knocked out you are out, surely.
"If you go into a competition and get beat, you are out of it. What are you doing coming back into another competition?
"If you get knocked out of the FA Cup we will all come back into the semi-finals of the Carling Cup or something?
"It’s unbelievable, I just don’t understand it."
