Fulham boss Martin Jol has ruled out a move for Schalke striker Raul at the end of the season, explaining that he has a player who can be just as good as the Spaniard in Moussa Dembele.

 

The 24-year-old hitman is so highly rated by Jol that a move for Real Madrid icon Raul, even though the goal-getter’s contract with Schalke runs out at the end of the season, has not been considered.

 

However, it is the former Tottenham Hotspur manager’s assessment that Dembele can be just as good as Raul which will turn heads.

 

"Raul is a star, but we have a fantastic player in that position", said Jol.

 

"Dembele is excellent and has the potential to reach the same level as Raul.

 

"He’s on track to become a world star."

 

Jol’s words are high praise for Dembele and the Belgian attacking all-rounder has clearly impressed the Dutchman.

 

The 24-year-old was signed from Eredivisie side AZ in the summer of 2010 for £5M.
