Paris Saint-Germain are hoping that Manchester City’s reluctance to loan Carlos Tevez will put them in the driving seat for the Argentine striker.

City have a loan offer on the table for Tevez from AC Milan, who have already agreed terms with the player.

The Rossoneri’s proposal would see the 27-year-old move to the San Siro until the end of the season with no fee payable to City for the privilege.

And when certain conditions are met, Milan would look to turn the move into a permanent one.

Roberto Mancini’s men however want to sell Tevez outright, a fact of which Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo, who has talked to the Argentine’s representative Kia Joorabchian, is well aware.

Indeed, Leonardo hopes that this could tip the balance despite the fact that Tevez wants to join Milan.

"We have not made an offer for Tevez", said the Brazilian. "We were informed last summer [of his availability] and of course we are still interested.

"I have spoken to his agent and I know that the player wants to go to Milan.

"But I also know that Manchester City want to sell him outright."

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to pay City €30M to sign Tevez on a permanent basis.
