Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed his side to continue building towards a Premier League title challenge after their 1-0 win over Everton.
It was a hard-fought victory for the Gunners, who needed a sublime volley from Robin van Persie to take the three points.
Wenger’s men fully deserved their win, with Everton managing just one shot on target for the entire 90 minutes.
And with the win sending Arsenal up to fourth, a Premier League title challenge is once again on Wenger’s mind, with the Frenchman believing his troops are building a budding surge.
"We have to continue [to build a title challenge].
"The spirit is there, the consistency is there now, our focus is there, so we will see how far we can go."
Wenger also praised the side for keeping their focus, especially given the celebrations unfolding around them with the unveiling of statues of Arsenal legends and 125th birthday celebrations.
"Today was an historic day for us so it’s not easy to keep the focus right with so many people here and the celebration before the game and everybody coming back.
"But we were a bit historical today as well because we won 1-0. George Graham was here today, he deserves a statue!"
