The race for Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia is hotting up, with the Belgian side looking unlikely to be able to keep hold of the 25-year-old.
Biglia appears to be at the centre of a three-way transfer tussle between English duo Arsenal and Manchester United, and Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
And according to Flemmish daily Het Laaste Nieuws, La Viola have already submitted an official bid for the Argentine as they seek to replace the departing Riccardo Montolivo.
This is expected to jolt Arsenal and Manchester United into action, with Biglia a player both have tracked for some time.
Anderlecht had been hoping that the fact Biglia is currently sidelined through injury would protect the club against advances in the winter window – the pass-master is out with a shoulder injury and expected to return only at the end of January.
But it appears the Argentine’s suitors are not ready to wait until next summer.
Anderlecht now face the very real threat of losing another one of their crown jewels after Romelu Lukaku was sold to Chelsea in the summer for €20M.
