1.FC Koln striker Lukas Podolski has hit out at Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp.

The Ruhr side’s chief had suggested that he would not be joining the transfer tussle for Podolski in January as he feels the goal-getter is "too inconsistent and therefore too expensive".

However, the 27-year-old, who has interested a number of clubs, including English giants Arsenal – a side Podolski recently lavished praise onand Schalke, has hit back at Klopp.

Indeed, the Germany international has dismissed the Dortmund coach’s criticism, claiming it is nothing more than a case of sour grapes.

"Maybe Klopp is upset because I have refused to sign for him twice", said Podolski.

And the forward also addressed the too expensive point, noting that perhaps this is because Dortmund have been eliminated from the Champions League.

"I’m really too expensive for Dortmund as they have been knocked out of the Champions League through finishing last in their group."
