Arsenal have been confirmed as admirers of Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia by the player’s agent.

Biglia is thought to be interesting a number of clubs, with Fiorentina and Manchester United also mooted as making up a brewing three-way transfer tussle for the pass-master.

Anderlecht had hoped that the 25-year-old being out through injury – Biglia is sidelined with a shoulder complaint – could persuade clubs to bide their time and instead approach the Belgian giants in the summer.

Indeed, Anderlecht are not at all keen on the idea of losing Biglia in mid-season, especially having already bid farewell to Romelu Lukaku before the campaign began.

But offers are expected to land in January and, in addition to Fiorentina, the player’s agent Enzo Montepaone has confirmed that Arsenal are interested.

"It’s not only Fiorentina", said Montepaone to Calcio Mercato, "Arsenal are following him with great interest."

The Gunners may have to act quickly however as La Viola have already given a firm indication of how much they would be willing to pay.
