Arsenal new boy Park Chu-Young has vowed to take his chance when he is called upon.

The South Korea international arrived at the Gunners over the summer, moving from 2004 Champions League finalists Monaco, who suffered the pain of relegation – a pain that shows no sign of ending with the principality club remarkably bottom of Ligue 2.

It has taken time for the striker to get up to speed in London, but now Park is raring to add to his one goal already in an Arsenal shirt.

Manager Arsene Wenger has been linked with a swoop for another striker in the January transfer window, with Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh both heading to the African Coup of Nations in the new year.

This though could afford Park a chance to impress and convince Wenger he need not dip into the transfer market, though the Korean is not expecting a regular slot at once.

"All my team-mates are great players. I do not expect a chance for me because a player is unavailable", Park told Arsenal’s official website.

"I will do my best to prepare myself to take any random chances at any time.

"I am new to this club and to the Premier League. I am trying hard to learn more and more.

"I don’t worry about getting used to everything or anything. My team-mates are nice to me and I do not have any problems at all regarding training."
