Dijon are in advanced talks over taking Gael Kakuta on loan from Chelsea for the second half of the season.
Kakuta is currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers, but has seen little first team action with the Premier League strugglers, defeating the object of sending the 20-year-old to the Reebok Stadium.
Chances at Stamford Bridge look limited and Chelsea are believed to be open to allowing Kakuta to head back to France – the winger-cum-forward was on the books at Lens before moving to Chelsea.
Ligue 1 side Dijon would offer Kakuta more playing time, aiding his development.
And the French outfit are in talks with the Chelsea man, and remain hopeful over gaining an agreement for Kakuta to join up with Patrice Carteron’s squad.
Like Bolton, Dijon are fighting against relegation, but the Burgundy side have enjoyed more success, sitting nicely above the Ligue 1 drop zone.
There could yet be a late bid from Lille for Kakuta however, and Dijon are not presuming the race for his signature is already won.
