Arsenal and Manchester United are set to battle it out for the signature of Barcelona starlet Isaac Cuenca.

The 20-year-old has impressed the Premier League duo, with the pair having taken note of his undoubted talent and continued development in Barcelona’s B team.

And with Oriol Romeu, who has excelled at Chelsea, further having demonstrated the depth of talent still to be plumbed in the Catalans’ reserve ranks, Cuenca’s exploits at the Mini Estadi have been monitored.

The winger-cum-forward spent last season on loan at CE Sabadell, helping the Catalan outfit to promotion up to Spain’s Segunda Division.

Cuenca is noted for his pace, while his technical abilities have also been praised.

Thus far the 20-year-old has turned out eight times with Barcelona B, finding the back of the net twice and impressing.

While Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola would be reluctant to lose Cuenca, the Camp Nou boss well understands that first team opportunities will be limited for the starlet.

Therefore, a deal similar to that concluded for Romeu, with the inclusion of a buy-back clause, could be acceptable to the newly crowned world champions.
