Shanghai Shenhua are already making plans in the event that Didier Drogba snubs a move to China.
The Blue Devil are thought to be close to securing an agreement with Drogba for the Ivorian to team up with Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka under the watchful eye of Jean Tigana – Drogba has been offered a three-year contract worth between $10M and $12M per season.
But Shanghai, who are determined to win the Chinese Super League title, will not rest on their laurels and have given thought to who might be a worthwhile target if Drogba backs out of the move.
And that man is none other than Inter striker Diego Milito.
The Argentine is under contract with the Nerazzurri until 2014, but will be offered big money to head to the Chinese Super League.
Any move for Milito, the man who fired Inter to the 2010 Champions League, would be dependent on Drogba refusing to join Shanghai.
