Star duo Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani will be staying at Napoli despite much interest in their services from elsewhere, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has vowed.
Hamsik has been linked with AC Milan, while Cavani is said to be a target for both Chelsea and Real Madrid.
But the Azzurri are not ready to let either leave and are braced to stand their ground and keep the pair in southern Italy.
“Hamsik has already signed his contract extension with Napoli and therefore he will continue his adventure with us”, said De Laurentiis to Corriere dello Sport, adding: “as will Cavani who is very happy in Italy.”
De Laurentiis believes the duo are vital to Napoli’s hopes of winning the Serie A title in the next few years, while in Europe the Italian giants are already making progress.
A tough meeting with Chelsea awaits the Azzurri in the Champions League Round of 16.
