Lyon coach Remi Garde is ready to keep Aly Cissokho at the Stade Gerland.
The left back was close to leaving Les Gones over the summer off the back of a disappointing 2010/11 campaign and has been expected to exit the club in January, with Borussia Dortmund linked with a swoop.
Interest in the 24-year-old in the summer window came from English duo Liverpool and Newcastle, but each eventually settled on other options to solve their left back woes.
Cissokho has since begun to establish himself under Garde to such an extent that the Lyon boss would like to keep hold of the defender.
"Aly has become more of a regular", said Garde.
"And his goal is to find a way into the France team.
"I wonder if Lyon is not the best place to achieve this goal."
