Lazio are ready to enter the race for out-of-favour Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic.

 

The Croatian hitman was recently linked with a shock move to Manchester United, with sources in his native Croatia claiming that Eric Cantona has recommended the 32-year-old to Sir Alex Ferguson.

 

If United choose to launch a swoop then that could complicate matters for Lazio, but the Rome side are ready to push ahead with their interest as it is still unclear whether Ferguson will make Olic an offer.

 

The 32-year-old is keen to quit the Allianz Arena after falling out of favour under Jupp Heycnkes.

 

And with Euro 2012 on the horizon, Olic wants to ensure he is sharp for the summer tournament.

 

The man who was key to Bayern Munich’s run to the 2010 Champions League final has attracted interest from elsewhere however, with Villarreal, Wolfsburg and Fulham all checking on his availability of late.
