AC Milan are playing it cool over Carlos Tevez after Manchester City dismissed any prospect of the Argentine leaving Eastlands on loan.

The Rossoneri want to take the 27-year-old on loan until the end of the season and only then decide whether to negotiate with City over a permanent transfer.

But the Citizens want to sell Tevez outright and Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to pay cold hard cash, something Milan are unwilling to do.

Indeed, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has insisted that the Italian champions have enough within their ranks to win Serie A without Tevez – hinting that the Rossoneri could walk away from a potential deal.

"I’m not courting Tevez, and he costs too much", said Berlusconi.

"Milan have a squad that could win the Scudetto as they are.

"There is also [Alexandre] Pato, who must play much more."
