Chelsea forward Gael Kakuta has agreed to join French Ligue 1 side Dijon on loan for the second half of the season according to L’Equipe.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Premier League club Bolton Wanderers, but has featured little for the Reebok Stadium outfit.

Chelsea believe that Kakuta needs to spend time on the pitch to aid his development and have been disappointed at his lack of involvement at Bolton.

This will be remedied at Dijon, where the youngster is expected to play a key part in Patrice Carteron’s side’s battle against relegation.

It is a move Kakuta has consented to as he looks forward to a run of regular first team football.

The forward, who can also play out wide, joined Chelsea in 2007 in what was a controversial transfer from French side Lens.

He spent time on loan last season with Fulham.
