Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has blasted a broadside towards Arsene Wenger and explained that if he is not handed increased time on the pitch then he will leave the Emirates Stadium.
Chamakh arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2010 on a free transfer after his contract expired with Bordeaux.
The 27-year-old was expected to add a fresh cutting edge to the Gunners’ play and provide an aerial threat that would have brought a new dimension to Wenger’s side.
But the Moroccan international has largely been considered a second string option by the French boss and Chamakh is growing impatient.
"I can’t continue in this situation forever", the striker told Sud Ouest.
"I’m 27. I’m a competitor, I want to play.
"I agree with many things [at Arsenal] because they work. But I’m absolutely certain that I won’t continue as I am next season."
Chamakh has the opportunity to place himself in the shop window in January when he travels to the African Cup of Nations.
The Morocco star can also use the chance to remind Wenger of his undoubted qualities; qualities which made him one of the most feared forwards in Ligue 1.
