Marseille boss Didier Deschamps has confirmed that he is intensely looking at players to bring in during the January transfer window.

Deschamps has seen his side sit off the Ligue 1 title pace and securing Champions League football, by finishing in the top three, is the minimum target at the Stade Velodrome.

To do that, the former Juventus coach believes reinforcements are needed, and explained he is not just scouring the Italian market, which he knows well, but Spain and England too.

"We are looking for new players", said Deschamps.

"I don’t think it will be hard to find them, we must see what we are able to do.

"We need players that can help us until the end of the season, not just during the African Cup of Nations."

Asked whether he would be buying from Italy, Deschamps explained he is casting his net much more widely.

"Italy, Spain, England, we’ll see."
