Roma are believed to have offered Tottenham Hotspur striker Marco Borriello in a straight swap for Croatian defender Vedran Corluka according to sources in Italy.
The Giallorossi are keen on Spurs man Corluka, who has struggled to cement a spot in Harry Redknapp’s starting eleven at White Hart Lane.
And aware that Redknapp would like to add another striker to his ranks in the winter transfer window, Roma hope that the offer of 29-year-old former AC Milan hitman Borriello will tickle the former Portsmouth manager’s fancy.
Borriello has slipped out of favour under Roma coach Luis Enrique and is ready to seek pastures new to enjoy more playing time.
Corluka too wants to receive more first team football in the new year as he looks to ensure he is in the finest possible shape for Euro 2012.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs from Manchester City in 2007 for around £5.5M.
Corluka’s agent has already indicated that his client would be happy to move to the Italian capital, however whether Redknapp is willing to take Borriello remains to be seen.
