Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he could well make a move to bring legendary striker Thierry Henry back to the club.
Henry is currently on his off-season break with MLS side New York Red Bulls and could follow in the footsteps of Los Angeles Galaxy striker Landon Donovan by making a short loan move to the Premier League – Donovan recently joined Everton, his second such spell with the Toffees.
And for Wenger, who is set to lose both Gervinho and the want-away Marouane Chamakh to the African Cup of Nations, snapping up Henry for a brief loan stint could be perfect.
"Short term is ideal, but I haven’t made any enquiry yet", said the Gunners boss about Henry.
"I have to think", he added.
"1st January is the vital date for us. We have seven days to make decisions and I will make a decision in the next seven days on players."
Henry turned out for Arsenal between 1999 and 2007, scoring 226 goals in 370 games. The Frenchman is widely considered one of Arsenal’s greatest ever players.
