Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has told the club’s faithful that there is still much more to come from him this season.
The 22-year-old has forced his way into Andre Villas-Boas’ first team, keeping more established stars such as Florent Malouda and Salomon Kalou on the bench.
Sturridge has already found the back of the net nine times and with Nicolas Anelka leaving for Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua and Didier Drogba tipped to follow at some point, the Englishman’s importance to the Blues will only increase.
And he is ready to rise to the challenge.
"I know I can improve a lot more than where I am now and hopefully I will be able to show that", said Sturridge after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, a match he scored in.
"I’ll be coming away from this game disappointed I didn’t score more.
"I feel I could have taken the first chance and I’ll be working hard to improve my game because I know I can do a lot better than I am now."
