Borussia Dortmund gem Mario Gotze has revealed that playing for Barcelona would be "a dream".

The highly-rated German midfielder has turned heads across Europe over the last 12 months, and nowhere more so than at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a confirmed admirer.

From Spain too there is interest, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping tabs on a player Dortmund have vowed not to sell; and within Germany, powerhouses Bayern Munich continue to hold a Gotze dream.

But, if the youngster were to move in future, it would be advantage Barcelona, Gotze himself has admitted.

"Playing for Barcelona goes through the mind of every player", the 19-year-old admitted to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

"It’s a dream shared by all players", he added.

Gotze did move to reassure the Dortmund faithful that an imminent switch is not on the agenda however, although also admitted interest in his services from some of Europe’s biggest clubs is flattering.

"I don’t know anything about the transfer market.

"I don’t know if there have been any concrete offers, but I’m not thinking about changing teams.

"Although, it’s an honour to receive all this interest."
