Arsenal and Liverpool have joined the hunt for Getafe midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada.

The 22-year-old France-born star has shone in La Liga with Getafe this season, making the step up from the club’s B team with aplomb.

Barrada’s talents have already been noted within Spain, with powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid keeping tabs on the player, while Sevilla and Villarreal are also confirmed admirers.

Now though word of Barrada’s skills has spread outside La Liga, reaching the English Premier League, where both Arsenal and Liverpool have begun to take a keen interest in his progression at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Barrada landed at Getafe in 2010 after being released by Paris Saint-Germain; the skilful midfielder had failed to make an impression in the French giants’ second string side, despite three years spent in the reserve ranks.

Getafe though quickly recognised they had unearthed a gem as Barrada excelled in the club’s B team.

The 22-year-old has been tied to a contract that runs until 2015 by the Madrid-based side, with his release clause set at a substantial €20M.

Such an amount would prove to be little obstacle for any of the player’s interested parties.

Barrada has found the back of the net three times in La Liga so far this season.
