Chelsea star Florent Malouda has written off his side’s chances of winning the Premier League this season and urged the team to focus on more "achievable goals".
Andre Villas-Boas’ men appeared to be back in the title race when beating Manchester City recently, but since then points have been dropped, with yesterday’s 1-1 home draw with Fulham just the latest occasion in which the Blues did not take three points.
Indeed, three consecutive 1-1 draws have changed the mindset at Stamford Bridge.
Malouda commented to Canal+ after the final whistle blew in the 1-1 Fulham draw that he "does not think you can talk about the title race for us.
"The key is to focus on achievable goals.
"That is to say, to secure third place."
Next up for Chelsea is a home clash against Aston Villa on New Year’s Eve, before a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on 2nd January.
