FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong has admitted hearing constant speculation over his future and a possible move to the English Premier League.

The 21-year-old, whose brother plays for Twente’s rivals Ajax, has been linked with both Newcastle and Liverpool, while Everton have been rumoured to be taking an interest, though the Tukkers’ asking price would make a move to Goodison Park unlikely.

De Jong has remained focused on the task at hand with Twente in the Eredivisie, but readily admits he would welcome the chance to test his skills in the Premier League in the future.

"Of course, in the future I’d love to play in the Premier League", said the forward.

"I’ve read all about the interest but personally I haven’t heard much about it until now.

"The Premier League is a really good competition and I think the style of football they play there suits me.

"They play with a lot of long balls and crosses, while some teams play really good football.

"Defensively a lot of teams play zonally, so between the lines there’s a lot of space."
