Swansea City are believed to have taken a decisive step ahead of Everton and Liverpool in the race for Cliftonville hitman Rory Donnelly.
The Swans had initially led the race with a £100,000 bid being accepted by Cliftonville, until that amount was bettered by Everton, while Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish also held talks with the 19-year-old.
But Swansea have remained keen and are not ready to lose out on the man who has found the back of the net 17 times so far this season.
And the Welsh outfit have made a new offer, which is comfortably believed to top all others.
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is now confident of landing his countryman and beating off the competition.
Donnelly has also been scouted by Arsenal.
