Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is prepared to allow Fernando Torres to join Barcelona, if he receives three of the Catalans’ stars in exchange, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Torres has struggled to rediscover his best form at Stamford Bridge since landing at Chelsea nearly one year ago for the princely sum of £50M.
Villas-Boas has remained keen to give the Spaniard every chance to impress, but sources in Spain believe that the Portuguese has outlined terms under which he would allow Torres to head to the Camp Nou.
For that to happen, the European champions would have to send two of their brightest talents in Martin Montoya (right back) and Sergi Roberto (midfielder), as well as established star Pedro Rodriguez, to London.
Villas-Boas has been impressed with summer signing Oriol Romeu and believes there is much talent yet to plunder in Barcelona’s B team ranks.
The capture of two of the Blaugrana’s most promising starlets along with Pedro would be a coup, although it remains unlikely Josep Guardiola would authorise such a deal for Torres.
Though the striker’s stock remains high in La Liga, Guardiola and co. are aware of the 27-year-old’s troubles in the Premier League and would no doubt consider Villas-Boas’ terms to be too high.
