Brazilian giants Corinthians are set to rekindle their Carlos Tevez interest in 2012.
The striker’s former club tried and failed to sign the Argentine from Manchester City in the summer and, despite continuing to bemoan the English club’s asking price for Tevez, are ready to try again.
New president Roberto Andrade, who is set to succeed Andres Sanchez in the powerbroker’s chair, is keen to speak to City – even if he accepts a deal would be difficult to agree.
"He’s a great player", said Andrade to Estadao about Tevez.
"At the start of the year we’ll start talks again but negotiations will be difficult.
"His price is extremely high, but Corinthians will work hard on [the transfer].
"We’re going to try again.
"We know that Manchester City ask for too much, but if we don’t try again we will never know."
