Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has called for the Gunners to be more ruthless at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger’s men dropped two points yesterday when only drawing 1-1 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers – it was a game that Arsenal were heavily favoured to win.
And Arteta was disappointed that the win was not grabbed, especially as the Spaniard believes it is essential that Arsenal win their home matches.
The former Everton man would not criticise the level of effort put into the game though, even if the result was not the desired one.
"I don’t think you can ask much more than we put into the game", said Arteta to Arsenal’s official website.
"Everyone tried really hard, it was one of those games. We had seven to ten chances to win it but, as I said, it did not happen for us."
And Arteta admitted he knew scoring just once at the Emirates was asking for trouble.
"Every side in the Premier League works hard but one goal is not enough.
"We have to be ruthless at home and keep more clean sheets to make sure we don’t drop points."
Arsenal will quickly have a chance to make amends however, as they welcome Queens Park Rangers to the Emirates on New Year’s Eve.
